A Mirror – The Oldest trick to make a room look bigger

Mirrors have always been a secret (or not so secret) weapon when you want to make a room look bigger and/or brighter. Specially, an oversized mirror. When placed in a key place it can work wonders and even double the space of a room.

Here are some examples and tips on how and where to place them.

Place it in front or angled to a window and make a dark room look brighter.

How to Add Color to a Room

Colorblocking has been a trend in fashion for a while now. It’s easy and cheap to update your wardrobe collection and add a few elements of color to your outfits. But in interiors, it can be scarier and more expensive.

Colorblocking ha estado de moda hace mucho. Es fácil comprar prendas de colores y ampliar tu colección de ropa. Pero en interiores puede ser un poco mas costoso e intimidante.

Colorblocking był trend w modzie na jakiś czas teraz. To proste i tanie, aby zaktualizować swoją kolekcję szafa i dodać kilka elementów koloru. Ale we wnętrzach, może być droższe.

 

PAINT is a great solution. This will be you best friend. Just paint a few pieces of furniture. For example this shelves, interior of cabinets or even window frames. Why not even paint a whole door? Choosing a key wall and painting it with a bright color can give a more bold effect.

Pintura puede ser una gran solución. Va a ser tu mejor amigo. Solo pinta algunas partes de tus muebles. Por ejemplo estas repisas (abajo), o el interior de unos cajones. O, por qué no pintar los marcos de ventanas o toda una puerta? Escoger una pared “clave” puede dar un efecto mas drástico.

Farba jest doskonałym rozwiązaniem. Wystarczy pomalować kilka mebli. Na przykład ten półki (poniżej), wnętrze mebli lub ram okiennych. Dlaczego nawet nie malować całe drzwi? Wybierając konkretny ściany i malowanie to z ciekawym kolorze może dać bardziej dramatyczny efekt.

 

 

Furniture can be a pricey and risky investment. But looks amazing and gives a dramatic look. But who know if in the future you’ll be bored of that color? I prefer to stick with neutrals. But, hey, looks great!

Muebles. Estos pueden resultar un poco más caros. Y es una inversión mas riesgosa. Quién sabe si de acá a un tiempo te aburres del color? Yo prefiero escoger colores neutros. Pero, hey, se ve lindísimo!

Meble mogą być drogie i ryzykowne inwestycje. Ale wygląda niesamowicie i daje dramatyczny wygląd. Ale kto wie czy w przyszłości będziesz się nudzić z tego koloru? Wolę wybierać z neutralnych. Ale, hej, wygląda świetnie!

 

Nature elements would be the cheapest way to incorporate a pop of color.

Elementos de la naturaleza. Esta es la solución mas barata y flexible. Incorpora color a la habitación con frutas y flores!

Naturalnych elementów. Jest to najbardziej niedrogie i elastyczne rozwiązanie. Dodaje kolor do pokoju z owocami i kwiatami!

Will you be adding color to your rooms? I love neutrals, but I might add pops of color into some areas to brighten them up!

Then, after removing old water plumbing | Después de quitar las tuberías viejas | Następnie, po usunięciu starego hydrauliką wody :

Later we had to prep the floor to get the heated floor system. Unfortunately we found out that we couldn’t remove all the wood from the floor because of some old ways of construction at the beginning of the 1900. So, our solution was to cut a section of the wood (in between trusses) and put there the heating.

Później musieliśmy przygotować podłogę, aby uzyskać podgrzewany system podłogowy. Niestety okazało się, że nie możemy usunąć wszystkie drzewa z podłogi bo niektórych starych sposobów budowy na początku 1900 roku. Tak, nasze rozwiązanie było wyciąć część lasu (w między kratownic) i umieścić tam ogrzewania.

Here’s all ready to pour concrete on top. Almost ready to start placing the floor tiles! As you can see, we have opened up the window. We’re changing it for a bigger one! And, the plumbing is done too!

Acá ya está listo para vaciar el concreto encima. Casi listo para poner las mayólicas! Como pueden ver, hemos extendido la ventana. Vamos a cambiar esa vieja por una mas grande! La instalación de agua y gas ya están listas!

Oto gotowy do wylania betonu na górze. Prawie gotowi do uruchomienia położenie płytek podłogowych! Jak widać, mamy otwarte okno. My się zmieniamy go na większy! I hydraulika odbywa się też!

As for the rooms, the gas heated system is already done. We had an electric heating system, and that’s way too expensive. Hence not so popular nowadays. So that’s done.

En los cuartos el systema de calefacción ya esta terminada. Cambiamos el sistema eléctrico por gas. Es mucho mas barato, Por eso el sistema eléctrico ya no es tan popular.

Jeśli chodzi o pokoje, gazowe system już jest zrobione. Mieliśmy elektryczny system grzewczy, a to zbyt drogie. Stąd nie tak popularne w dzisiejszych czasach.

The brick wall still has to be finished. We need to clean brick by brick and finally seal it.

 

So basically, the rooms are almost done. We only need to finish the walls, do some more details on the living room. I have some lighting effects in mind. Once the kitchen and bathroom will be complete, we’ll do the wooden floors and wall painting.

Cross your fingers. Hopefully in a month it will be ready. Cross your fingers! Cross them.

Więc w zasadzie, pokoje są prawie gotowe. Musimy tylko do końca ściany, zrobić trochę więcej szczegółów na temat salonu. Mam kilka efektów świetlnych w umyśle. Po kuchnia i łazienka będzie kompletny, zrobimy drewniane podłogi i malarstwa ściennego.

How to Organize your Makeup & Accessories

My sister recently asked me to make this post. And actually, I thought it was a good idea because sometimes not everyone might now simple tips like these…

This is how I organize my makeup and stuff since almost 2 years ago. Before I just had them cramped up in a corner.

I bought it in Ikea (here). Probably when moving to our apartment I’ll have something totally different. But for now, this is really practical and I love it. You might love it too if you don’t have a specific place for your cosmetics.

Anyways, here are my tips: | Aquí mis tips:

1.- Put all your makeup together. This will help you realize how much things you have, and how much space you’ll need.

Junta todo tu maquillaje. Esto te ayudará a ver cuánto tienes, y cuánto espacio necesitarás.

Połóż makijaż razem. To pomoże ci uświadomić sobie jak wiele rzeczy masz, i ile miejsca będzie potrzebne.

 

2.- Find some boxes and/or containers. Walk around your house and look for something. Anything helps. Candle holders, chocolate boxes, hairspray caps.. A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

Encuentra recipientes/cajitas. Pasea por toda tu casa y busca lo que sea. LO QUE SEA.

Znaleźć kilka pól i / lub kontenery. Spacer po domu i szukać czegoś. Wszystko pomaga.

I bought that white container and glass candle holders at Ikea as well (I love it there). The rectangle box is from a Ferrero Rocher chocolate box and the other is a hair mousse cap.

Yo compré el container blanco y las bases para velas en Ikea también. El recipiente rectangular es una caja de chocolates y el otro es una tapa de mousse para pelo.

Kupiłem ten biały pojemnik i świeczniki szklane w Ikei, a także (kocham go tam).Pole prostokąta jest z pudełka Rocher Ferrero czekolady i innych jest czapka pianka do włosów.

 

3.- Divide everything. I recommend dividing like this: everyday makeup – brushes – foundations – other makeup – nail polish – etc.

Divide todo. Yo recomiendo dividir de esta forma: maquillaje de diario – brochas – bases – otro maquillaje – esmalte de unas – etc.

Podziel wszystko. Polecam dzieląc tak: codzienny makijaż - szczotki - fundamenty - inne Makijaż - polski paznokci - itd.

 

4.- Place makeup in containers.

Pon el maquillaje en los recipientes.

Umieść makijaż w pojemnikach.

Nail polishes and mani-pedi stuff. | Esmaltes y cosas para mani-pedi.

All my brushes. | Mis brochas. | Pedzelki

Brushes I don’t use as much on the left. On the right, often used ones. | A la izq brochas que no uso mucho, y a la derecha las que más uso. | Pedzelki ze nie używam czesto aż po lewej stronie. Po prawej, te często używane.

 

Everyday makeup. Of course I don’t wear all that everyday, but they’re the things I most often use. (Mascara, eyeliner, BB Cream, bronzer, facepowder, eyebrow pencil, blush and some neutral eye shadows).

Mi maquillaje de diario. Obviamente no me pongo TODO eso diariamente, pero son las cosas que más uso.

Codziennie makijaż. Oczywiście nie noszę wszystko to codziennie, ale they'are rzeczy, ja najczęściej używane.

 

So this is how it looks:

I have a small candleholder with most used earrings and a section for hair accessories. | Tengo un espacio para los aretes que uso bastante. | Mam mały świecznik z najczęściej używanych kolczyków oraz dział dla akcesoriów do włosów.

 

This is an extra container for makeup I don’t use that often. | Este es mi recipiente con cosas que uso menos seguido. | Jest to dodatkowy pojemnik do makijażu nie używam tak często.

 

5.- Place containers where best fits your needs. In my case, I have the shelf next to the sink, where I usually put on my makeup. On the top part I have things for daily use. Second level (going down), hair stuff. Third (middle), nail polish container and eye shadow pallets. And bottom part and empty bag, manicure-pedicure kit and my Braun depilator.

Coloca los recipientes donde mejor te convengan! En mi caso, tengo mi repisa al lado del lavamanos, donde siempre me maquillo. En la parte de arriba tengo maquillaje de diario. Más abajo, cosas pare el pelo. En el medio, esmalte de uñas y paleta de sombras. Y finalmente, abajo, tengo un kit de manicure y pedicure, un bolso vacío y mi depiladora Braun.

Umieścić pojemniki gdzie najlepiej pasuje do Twoich potrzeb. W moim przypadku, mam półkę obok zlewu, gdzie zwykle włożyłem makijażu. W górnej części mam rzeczy do codziennego użytku. Drugi poziom (zejście), materiał do włosów. Po trzecie (w środku), paznokci pojemnik polskiej i palet cieni do powiek. I dolnej części i pusty worek, manicure-pedicure zestaw i mój depilator Braun.

 

 

EXTRA IDEAS:

Wrap you containers with a cute gift-paper | Envuelve los recipientes con un papel de regalo bonito!

Use cuttlery containers too! | Usa un recipiente de cubiertos también!| Dzielnik sztućce!

As I said, anything helps! | Como dije antes, cualquier cosa ayuda!

Even coffee mugs | Hasta tazas de café!

Print a nice label | Imprime una etiqueta linda!

For now, I put my necklaces in a small box, and in a smaller one I put my earrings and rings. I know its not the best idea. But I’ll show you other tips down below!
