Our Kitchen Inspirations

I’m really happy that I get to design out kitchen! From floor tiles, backsplash and door colors, to the layout and organization! Our kitchen area is almost ready for the cabinet installment (about 75% ready) and although we have already found the person who will be doing them and already told him the colors we want, I keep on thinking if to have a last minute change on the countertop color!

First, I’ll show you my inspirations, then, my kitchen layout and color options :)

Me encanta que tengamos la oportunidad de diseñar toda la cocina! Desde las mayólicas, superficie y color de las puertas, hasta la organización y distribución de las repisas! El área de la cocina esta casi terminada y lista para instalar los reposteros (75% lista) y aunque ya hayamos escogido al seños que hará los muebles y le hemos dicho los colores que queremos, creo que vamos a hacer un cambio de último minuto!

Jestem bardzo szczęśliwa, że mogę zaprojektować naszą kuchnię! Z płytek podłogowych i kolorów drzwi, do układu i organizacji! Nasza kuchnia jest niemal gotowa do montażu (około 75% gotowa) i chociaż już znalezlismy osobę, która będzie robić je i już powiedziałem mu kolory ze chcemy, chyba bedziemy mieć ostatniej chwili zmiana na kolor blatu!

 

 

Ever since I saw this shiny white fronts I fell in love! Mostly because we will be having a quite small independent kitchen (not annex). White opens up the space, and the shininess of the doors will reflect light making it brighter.

Desde que vi las puertas blancas y brillosas me enamoré! Más que nada, porque vamos a tener una cocina pequeña independiente. Y el color blanco hace el espacio mas grande y el brillo de las puertas hace que la luz refleje e ilumine la cocina.

Odkąd zobaczyłem lśniące białe fronty Zakochałam się! Głównie dlatego, że nasza kuchnia jest mała. Biały otwiera przestrzeń i połysk z drzwi będzie odbijają światło i sprawiają, że jaśniejsze.

 

 

Dark grey countertops. Initially I loved the idea of dark doors and a light countertop, but having a white surface will show dirt easily, and I, as a Peruvian raised girl, was never trained to clean, clean and clean. That I learned here in Poland… that and a few very practical tips on how to maintain a good household.. thanks mom-in-law!

Encimera gris. Inicialmente me gustó la idea de puertas oscuras y superficies blancas, pero la suciedad resalta mas en el blanco. Y, lamentablemente no me acostumbraron a limpiar, limpiar y limpiar. Eso lo aprendí en Polonia, junto con otros tips de organizacion y mantenimiento del hogar. Gracias suegra!

Szary blat. Początkowo podobały mi się ciemne drzwi i biały top, ale niestety gleba jest bardzo zauważalny w kolorze białym.

 

 

Anyways, that was my first idea for the kitchen design. Until I found this (below). I love that grey-ish wood color with white fronts! It’s so elegant and modern.

De todos modos, esa fue mi idea principal. Hasta que vi esto (más abajo). Me encanta la encimera de madera en tono gris con las puertas blancas! Es tan moderno y elegante.

Zresztą to był mój główny pomysł. Dopóki nie zobaczyłem to (poniżej). Uwielbiam drewniany blat w kolorze szarym z białymi drzwiami! To takie nowoczesne i eleganckie.

 

So, since the darkest grey countertop we could get wasn’t as dark as we initially wanted…

Tak więc, od najciemniejszego blacie szarym moglibyśmy dostać nie było tak ciemne, jak początkowo chciałam ...

…now we’re thinking on going for the wood-like one. The one on the right!

A Mirror – The Oldest trick to make a room look bigger

Mirrors have always been a secret (or not so secret) weapon when you want to make a room look bigger and/or brighter. Specially, an oversized mirror. When placed in a key place it can work wonders and even double the space of a room.

Here are some examples and tips on how and where to place them.

Los espejos han sido un arma secreta (o no tan secreta) para hacer que una habitación se vea más grande y/o iluminada. Especialmente un espejo extra grande. Cuando es puesto en un lugar clave, puede hacer maravillas e incluso hacer el espacio doble en tamaño!

Aquí hay unos ejemplos y tips de cómo y dónde colocarlo.

Lustra są trik dawno, aby pokój wydają się większe i / lub oświetlone. Szczególnie duże lustro. Po umieszczeniu w określonym miejscu może zdziałać cuda nawet zrobić miejsce dwukrotnie większy!

Oto niektóre przykłady oraz porady, jak i gdzie go umieścić.

 

Always have in mind what will the mirror be reflecting. In this case, it even shows the corridor area further, giving and extra piece of art reflected on it.

Siempre ten en cuenta lo que va a reflejar el espejo. En este caso se puede ver hasta la pintura situada en el pasadizo.

Zawsze należy pamiętać, że będzie odzwierciedlać lustro. Tutaj możesz zobaczyć się malowaniem na korytarzu.

 

Cover a whole wall with a mirror and add extra square meters immediately!

Cubre toda una pared y añade, inmediatamente, mas metros cuadrados a la habitación!

Pokryć całą ścianę z lustrem i dodatkowych metrów kwadratowych natychmiast!

 

Place it in front or angled to a window and make a dark room look brighter.

Pon el espejo enfrente o en ángulo a una ventana e ilumina un cuarto oscuro.

Umieść lustro w przedniej lub rogu okna i rozświetla ciemne pomieszczenia.

 

It will not only work to increase and brighten up a room, but a mirror can also work as a piece of art.

No sólo te sirven para agrandar un espacio, también puedes usarlos como una pieza de arte.

Put it in a small walk-in closet and give it a boutique-like feel.

Exactly a year ago I married the man of my dreams, who turned out to be my true best friend.

And, as you might already know, I like sharing tips and things I think are worth sharing. So today, I’m introducing you to the best professional photographer!

Adam and I love taking pictures, and for our wedding, we wanted someone really, really good. So we started our search on internet and found really tacky ones. Until we found Arek Zaremba. I immediately liked his style and pictures. We are even planning on taking him to Peru for our church wedding :) Yeah. We like him THAT much.

Exactamente hace un año me casé con mi príncipe azul, quién resulto ser mi mejor amigo.

Y, como ya debes saber, me gusta compartir tips y cosas que pienso que valen la pena ser compartidas. Así que hoy, les presento al mejor fotógrafo profesional!

A Adam y a mi nos encanta tomar fotos, y para nuestro matrimonio, queríamos a alguien excelente. Así que buscamos en internet y encontrabamos unos sin ese talento especial, u otros que no nos convencían totalmente. Hasta que encontramos a Arek. Inmediatamente nos encantó su estilo y fotos. Es más, estamos planeando en llevarlo a Perú para nuestro matrimonio religioso! Sí. Nos ENCANTA!

I, jak wiecie, lubię dzielić się poradami i rzeczy uważam za wart udostępniania. Więc dziś, przedstawiam najlepszego profesjonalnego fotografa!

Aby Adam i kocham robić zdjęcia, i dla naszego małżeństwa, chcieliśmy ktoś wielki. Więc szukaliśmy w internecie i znaleźliśmy jeden bez tego specjalnego talentu, ani inni nie w pełni nas przekonać. How to Add Color to a Room

Colorblocking has been a trend in fashion for a while now. It’s easy and cheap to update your wardrobe collection and add a few elements of color to your outfits. But in interiors, it can be scarier and more expensive.

Colorblocking ha estado de moda hace mucho. Es fácil comprar prendas de colores y ampliar tu colección de ropa. Pero en interiores puede ser un poco mas costoso e intimidante.

Colorblocking był trend w modzie na jakiś czas teraz. To proste i tanie, aby zaktualizować swoją kolekcję szafa i dodać kilka elementów koloru. Ale we wnętrzach, może być droższe.

 

PAINT is a great solution. This will be you best friend. Just paint a few pieces of furniture. For example this shelves, interior of cabinets or even window frames. Why not even paint a whole door? Choosing a key wall and painting it with a bright color can give a more bold effect.

Pintura puede ser una gran solución. Va a ser tu mejor amigo. Solo pinta algunas partes de tus muebles. Por ejemplo estas repisas (abajo), o el interior de unos cajones. O, por qué no pintar los marcos de ventanas o toda una puerta? Escoger una pared “clave” puede dar un efecto mas drástico.

Farba jest doskonałym rozwiązaniem. Wystarczy pomalować kilka mebli. Na przykład ten półki (poniżej), wnętrze mebli lub ram okiennych. Dlaczego nawet nie malować całe drzwi? Wybierając konkretny ściany i malowanie to z ciekawym kolorze może dać bardziej dramatyczny efekt.

 

 

Furniture can be a pricey and risky investment. But looks amazing and gives a dramatic look. But who know if in the future you’ll be bored of that color? I prefer to stick with neutrals. But, hey, looks great!

Muebles. Estos pueden resultar un poco más caros. Y es una inversión mas riesgosa. Quién sabe si de acá a un tiempo te aburres del color? Yo prefiero escoger colores neutros. Pero, hey, se ve lindísimo!

Meble mogą być drogie i ryzykowne inwestycje. Ale wygląda niesamowicie i daje dramatyczny wygląd. Ale kto wie czy w przyszłości będziesz się nudzić z tego koloru? Wolę wybierać z neutralnych. Ale, hej, wygląda świetnie!

 

Nature elements would be the cheapest way to incorporate a pop of color.

Elementos de la naturaleza. Esta es la solución mas barata y flexible. Incorpora color a la habitación con frutas y flores!

Naturalnych elementów. Jest to najbardziej niedrogie i elastyczne rozwiązanie. Dodaje kolor do pokoju z owocami i kwiatami!

Will you be adding color to your rooms? I love neutrals, but I might add pops of color into some areas to brighten them up!

Vas a darle color a tus habitaciones? A mi me encantan los neutros, pero creo que agregaré algunos elementos claves de color para alegrar el cuarto!

Bedziesz dodac kolor do swoich pokoi? Kocham neutralne, ale chyba bedzie dac koloru w niektórych dziedzinach, aby były bardziej interesujące!

Then, after removing old water plumbing | Después de quitar las tuberías viejas | Następnie, po usunięciu starego hydrauliką wody :

Later we had to prep the floor to get the heated floor system. Unfortunately we found out that we couldn’t remove all the wood from the floor because of some old ways of construction at the beginning of the 1900. So, our solution was to cut a section of the wood (in between trusses) and put there the heating.

Tuvimos que preparar el piso para poner calefacción. Desafortunadamente nos enteramos que no podíamos poner el systema encima del piso de madera, asi que tuvímos que quitar una parte del piso (entre vigas) y limpiar todo lo que estaba debajo.. A comienzos de 1900 se construía de forma diferente.

Później musieliśmy przygotować podłogę, aby uzyskać podgrzewany system podłogowy. Niestety okazało się, że nie możemy usunąć wszystkie drzewa z podłogi bo niektórych starych sposobów budowy na początku 1900 roku. Tak, nasze rozwiązanie było wyciąć część lasu (w między kratownic) i umieścić tam ogrzewania.

Here’s all ready to pour concrete on top. Almost ready to start placing the floor tiles! As you can see, we have opened up the window. We’re changing it for a bigger one! And, the plumbing is done too!

Acá ya está listo para vaciar el concreto encima. Casi listo para poner las mayólicas! Como pueden ver, hemos extendido la ventana. Vamos a cambiar esa vieja por una mas grande! La instalación de agua y gas ya están listas!

Oto gotowy do wylania betonu na górze. Prawie gotowi do uruchomienia położenie płytek podłogowych! Jak widać, mamy otwarte okno. My się zmieniamy go na większy! I hydraulika odbywa się też!

As for the rooms, the gas heated system is already done. We had an electric heating system, and that’s way too expensive. Hence not so popular nowadays. So that’s done.

En los cuartos el systema de calefacción ya esta terminada. Cambiamos el sistema eléctrico por gas. Es mucho mas barato, Por eso el sistema eléctrico ya no es tan popular.

Jeśli chodzi o pokoje, gazowe system już jest zrobione. Mieliśmy elektryczny system grzewczy, a to zbyt drogie. Stąd nie tak popularne w dzisiejszych czasach.

The brick wall still has to be finished. We need to clean brick by brick and finally seal it.

 

So basically, the rooms are almost done. We only need to finish the walls, do some more details on the living room. I have some lighting effects in mind. Once the kitchen and bathroom will be complete, we’ll do the wooden floors and wall painting.

Cross your fingers. Hopefully in a month it will be ready. Cross your fingers! Cross them.

Así que básicamente las habitaciones están terminadas. Solo tenemos que terminar de emparejas las paredes, hacer unos detalles en la sala de estar. Tengo unas ideas para la iluminación. Y una vez que la cocina y bano estén listos, hacemos el piso de madera y pintamos.

Więc w zasadzie, pokoje są prawie gotowe. Musimy tylko do końca ściany, zrobić trochę więcej szczegółów na temat salonu. Mam kilka efektów świetlnych w umyśle. Po kuchnia i łazienka będzie kompletny, zrobimy drewniane podłogi i malarstwa ściennego.
